Award and Fun Stuff

Karen Jo:  Team Tabby gave this award to Spyro, Oja and Angel Herman two weeks ago and I am finally getting around to posting it.  Thank you so much Team Tabby.  I am sure that Herman is thrilled.  I know Spyro and Oja are.  I guess Spyro and Oja might qualify as babies, as they are both two years old.  I pass the award along to:

Forty Paws
Four White Paws
The Chesney Cats
Alasandra, the Cats & a Dog
Jacqueline's Cat House
The Cat Post Intelligencer
Glorgirly
Manx Mnews
Spyro:  Mom has trouble taking good pictures of me, because I am seldom still.  I was sitting in a light spot in the hall, just as handsome as you please, but when Mom pointed the camera at me, I walked right between her legs and into the kitchen.  I thought I could talk her into letting me go outside.  I jump up on the stove and meow and meow at her to open the door, but she hardly ever listens to me.  I also keep moving my head.

Karen Jo:  I really wish I could get a shot of the way you tilt your head when you are curious about something.  That is where your head was when I pushed the button, but you moved immediately.

Spyro:  Always keep the beans guessing, that's my motto.  Mom got some interesting packages in the mail today.  I sniffed them all over and even knocked one of them on the floor.  Sadly, none of them were for us.

Karen Jo:  It's the time of year for interesting packages.  There will be some for you, eventually.

Spyro:  I got some good views of Mom crawling around on the floor yesterday and a bunch of balls appeared.

Karen Jo:  I went on one of my sporadic toy hunts.  Oja's jingle balls have been disappearing.  I found a bunch of balls and a little something from Herman.  That last week he was really fighting me about taking his Metro.  I found a pill he had spit out behind his platform after I thought he had swallowed it.

Spyro:  I haven't seen any more chipmunks, but there have been a lot of birds.
Oja:  I like to watch the birds, too.  Late yesterday afternoon, Mom found me in this chair on my back, looking out the window.  I was watching the birds in the tree next door and decided I might as well be comfortable about it.

Karen Jo:  I would have loved to take that picture, but there wasn't enough light.

Oja:  Some of you must be thinking that I live in this chair, but I don't.  I run around a bit and play with Spyro and knock balls all around.  I snuggled up tight to Mom last night.  We had a good time together.

Karen Jo:  I am getting used the changes.  When I am feeling sad that Herman isn't there to greet me at the door or snuggle up to me at night, I tell myself how lucky I am that Spyro greets me at the door every time and Oja snuggles up to me most nights.

Award

Way back in February, Team Tabby gave me this very nice award.  Mom is just getting her lazy self into gear enough to post it.  Here are the rules:

Upon receipt of the award, one is to:
1) Link back to the blogger who gave it
2) Paste the award on the blog
3) Choose 5 blogs to pass this award to (they must have fewer than 200 followers)
4) Let the recipients know about their nomination by leaving a comment on their blogs.

It is very hard to pick only five friends to pass this along to, but I'll do my best.

Eric and Flynn
The World of Hansel
Furry Paws
Grrreta
Jan's Funny Farm

Now for a bit about what's been going on around here.  Mom measured the dry food in my bowl and it was just about right.  I would never eat that much dry food in one day.

Karen Jo:  I am going to start making sure that you have only 1/2 cup of dry food in your bowl from now on.  I think that even that is more than you eat in a day.  It looks like I might have to follow the vet's suggestion about giving you a light lunch after all.

I think I'll survive.  I rarely eat it all, anyway.  I have found a new way to tease my Mom.  I got her at dawn this morning for breakfast and as soon as she got into the kitchen I started eating the leftover Medley.

Karen Jo:  I think you were just trying to get two breakfasts.  You know I would never take a dish away from you while you are eating.

It worked, too.  Mom gave me fresh Stinky Goodness at dawn and fresh Medley when she got up.  Score!

Karen Jo:  You do realize that you got the same amount of food you always get, just split up into two breakfasts, don't you?

That's OK.  The plan was to get two breakfasts.  Mom brought a strange kitty into the house today.

Karen Jo:  I saw that same little kitty with tortie markings in my yard that I had seen months ago out in the snow.  This time she came up to me and rubbed against my leg.  She let me pick her up and read her tag, though she wasn't too happy about it.  Once I had the phone number firmly in my head, I brought her into the house and put her in Emma's room.  Then I called her Mom, who came to pick her up. She just lives up the street and is an indoor/outdoor cat who sometimes wanders.

Herman:  I am glad that her Mom came for her right away.  She hissed and growled at me while you were carrying her by.

She was probably just scared of you, Herman.  She was just about Emma's size and you are so much bigger.  I am just very relieved to know that she has a home nearby wasn't a lost kitty.  I felt really bad the time that I saw her out in the snow and she ran away from me.

Award

I can hardly believe it. I got this award three times. Thank you, Curzon, Jadzia and Nimbus; Harry Spotter and Gotchi. I am really thrilled about it.

This award has some rules:
Rule 1. Thank the person who gave it to you.
Rule 2. Share 9 things about yourself.
Rule 3. Pass the award along to 9 bloggers who you think are fantastic.
Rule 4. Contact Blog award winners.

It's going to be hard to tell you nine things about myself that you don't already know, but maybe if I throw in a few things I have done lately I can come up with nine.

1. I have made four solid poops since Wednesday.
2. I weigh 12 pounds now. I have gained back all the weight I lost when I got so sick.
3. Mom won't get up to play with me at oh-dark-thirty even if I go all ninja kitty on her. She tried to calm me down by petting me, but I grabbed her wrist, bit her thumb and bunny kicked her arm until she cried for mercy.
4. I discovered Bed Monsters in my Mom's bed and I beat them up real good, too.
5. I don't like canned green pea and duck cat food.
6. Hairballs put me off my food for several hours.
7. I have joined the kitties who barf on the carpet. I laid a nice hairball in the hall, but put it next to the night light, so Mom wouldn't step in it when I got her up for early breakfast. Hey, I have to keep up my standing in the Good Kitty Club.
8. I have been licking my Stinky Goodness dishes clean, except after a hairball.
9. I love naked feet, especially the toes. I rub my head all over them, sniff them, lick them and even gently bite them.

I would like to pass this award along to:
Katie
Ayla and Iza
The Ozark Mountain Cats
Roxy and Lucky
Shadow, Molly, Trooder and Jake

Award

I'll be turning the blog over to Mom soon for her award, but first the poop report. I had solid poops Saturday and Sunday, but when back to thick pudding poops on Monday. Mom did say that one of them had a shape, but was too flat to be solid. I am eating up a storm and playing THoE by myself and batting my toys around when it's cooler. It was so hot when Mom left for work that I was stretched out on the kitchen linoleum.

Karen Jo: Thank you for your report Herman. I received this award from Sammy and Andy's Mom. It's for us Moms who help our kitties blog. Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. Answer the questions, then pick five Moms to pass it along to.

1. What would your prefect day consist of?

The day I finish up everything connected with settling my Mother's estate will be perfect for me.

2. How would you describe yourself if you were an item of clothing?

An old pair of hiking boots -- not much to look at, but comfortable and dependable.

3. What hobbies are you currently working on?

Catching up on last season's Doctor Who episodes.

4. Walking in the woods in wellies or bare foot on the beach?

Since I live in the woods, or very near, I would choose barefoot on the beach for a change.

5. Have you ever hugged or sang to a tree?

Frequently.

6. Growing your own veggies or nipping to the supermarket?

Nipping to the supermarket. My Mother and I used to grow our own, but I don't seem to have the willpower to do the work now.

7. Have you found anyone exciting in your family tree?

One of my ancestors fought in the Revolutionary War.

8. Slap up meal in a posh restaurant or fish ‘n’ chips from the wrapper?

Fish and chips from the wrapper.

9. Which element do you most resonate with, Earth, Air, Fire or water?

Air.

10. Do you believe in fairies?

Most of the time, but then sometimes I get all "rational" and think I'm being silly.

Award

First of all I would like to thank all of you very much for all the purrs and prayers that you are sending me and my Mom. It really touched Mom that so many of you care about us to much.

Team Tabby gave me this great award over a month ago. Thank you so very much. I really appreciate it. According to the rules, I am supposed to tell you seven new things about myself. Well, the new things about me are pretty depressing, so I am going to cheat and tell you seven things that I have done recently instead.

1. I forgot to tell you what happened when Mom made me chicken livers. I goofed when I said that Victor Tabbycat told me about chicken livers. He told me about turkey giblets. It was Da Fambly Cats who told Mom how to make me chicken livers. Mom cooked them up and they smelled great. I kept walking into the kitchen and smelling the air and meowing. When they were ready, Mom chopped them up very small and put them in my dish while they were still warm, but not hot. I really checked them out, then walked away. A couple of hours later, when they had gotten all cold and dry and looked more like kibble, Mom walked over to them to give them to the ravens and I trotted up and started eating them. I ate about a third of them and left the rest for the ravens.

2. I let Mom pill me yesterday because I was feeling pretty rotten, what with the vet visit and getting a shot of Vitamin B with anti-poop-puddle and all. Today I felt a lot better and things were different. I gave Mom a battle royal all around the living room before she finally got those nasty pills in me. She won't try that again in a hurry.

Karen Jo: I recently found out that you have a reputation at the vet's for being difficult to medicate. I learned that you hadn't been getting Interferon before because you wouldn't let your foster Mom give it to you and that pilling you was out of the question. I feel honored that you have let me give you your medicine with so few problems so far. I will find a way to get those pills in you, don't you worry.

3. Tonight I found out what one of those ways might be. Mom crushed my pills and put them a tiny bit of water and syringed me. Let me tell you that was nasty. Those things taste horrible. Kitties, take my advice and never get poop puddles so bad that you have to take this stuff. Luckily Mom gave me a treat right afterward to take away the taste. I wouldn't even take the treat at first for scraping my tongue against my teeth trying to make the taste go away.

Karen Jo: Sorry, Herman. I only used water this time because I wanted to make sure that I got all the crushed pill I could into the syringe. I needed to see that the pill powder at least suspended in the water, if not dissolved. If I find that this is the best way to go, I will use something tastier as the liquid, like watered down baby food.

4. Mom finally Furminated me. It worked really well, except that I am so bony now that the broad rake kept catching on bones. Mom has gone back to the brush, which I like better anyway. The vet got rid of my new mat and Mom hasn't seen any new ones forming.

5.There is a little blue pillow on the couch that I like to nap on and I have discovered that it is really nice to cuddle up to. I even rest my head on it sometimes.

6. I was really hungry this morning. Mom got up a little earlier than usual and I really meowed loudly for food. Mom gave me my Medley and went ahead and put my pro-biotic in it as I seemed so hungry and might eat it all. Did I ever! I ate up every bit of it at one go and even licked my dish clean. Mom gave me some Stinky Goodness and I ate some, but not much, of that, too. I got unmedicated Medley and more Stinky Goodness for elevenses and I ate about half of the Medley and a tiny bit of the Stinky Goodness. I got fresh food before Mom went to work and I ate about half the Medley yet again. Tonight I ate up my Medley with my fiber in it and some Stinky Goodness and told Mom I wanted some fresh food a little while ago. I have eaten some of both so far. I also ate more than usual of my kibble. This is more than I have eaten in one day in weeks.

7. Last night I came in very soon after Mom went to bed. I have been waiting until Mom was asleep already lately and mostly sleeping on her feet. Last night I snuggled right up next to her like I used to and we had a nice long petting and cuddling session before she went to sleep. We both enjoyed that very much.

Award

There isn't much to report on Herman. He is just about the same, not feeling good, not much interested in anything. He is going back to the vet this week and I will let you know what happens there. I am going to get him caught up on his awards. Cheysuli gave Herman this award quite some time ago. Thank you so much, Cheysuli. The only rule seems to be that you pass the award on to five more bloggers. Herman would like to pass this award along to:

Cory because reading her blog is so much fun.
Tygana because she does so much for the Cat Blogosphere.
Faith Boomerang for taking care of the huge cockroach.
Sammy and Andy because they are such faithful commenters.
Simba because he keeps coming back and commenting, though I hardly ever visit him.

Award

My lazy Mom is finally getting around to accepting my awards and posting about them. Monty Graycat gave me this award, saying that we gray cats have to stick together. I agree completely. Thank you very much, Monty.

The rules for this award are:

You must pick twelve recipients for the award and post their names and links and of course make a comment on each of their blogs telling them how they have brought SUNSHINE into your life.

So many of you have brought sunshine into my life, especially since I have been having my poop problems that picking just twelve is going to be hard.

Grrreta
Ayla and Iza
Whicky Wuddler
Angel and Kirby
Our Family Cat-a-blog
Glorgirly and Katie
Friends FurEver
The Island Cats
House of the (Mostly) Black Cats
Daisy the Curly Cat

Tyler's Tattles
Cheysuli

There are so many more that I wish I could just keep going, but Mom is getting tired, so I have to stop.

I also want to thank Mark, Ayla and Iza for giving my Mom and me the Shining Star Award all over again. That is very kind and we thank you very much.

Award

I got this really great award from Puddin a while ago. Mom took forever to find time to blog about it. The rules have changed a little bit from when Mom got it, but she likes the original wording of the rules, so she is going to use that, but change the number of blogs that you have to pass it on to. Here are the rules:

"When accepting this auspicious award, you must write a post bragging about it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such acclaim, and link back to said person so everyone knows he or she is. Choose a minimum of 10 blogs that you find brilliant in content or design. Or improvise by including have no idea who you are because you don’t have 10 friends. Show the 10 random victims’ names and links and leave a harassing comment informing them that they were prized with “Honest Weblog.” Well, there’s no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon. List at least ten honest things about yourself. Then, pass it on! "

It's not going to be easy to find ten things that we haven't already told you about me, but here goes:

1. I am really a very affectionate cat, but it has to be on my terms. If I come to Mom for petting, that's great. If she comes to me, I put the bitey on her.

2. I like scrambled eggs.

3. I like sharp cheddar.

4. I have two white stripes on my chin, going from the corners of the white triangle on my face.

5. I don't like roast beef, but I love steak.

6. I actually watch the TV screen sometimes when I'm lying on the bed with Mom.

7. I like mayonnaise. I even tried to lick it off the bread when Mom was making a sandwich.

8. I would never make it into the Naughty Kitty's Club. Mom left the Temptations out all night where I could get to them and I never touched them.

9. I finally connected scratching on my platform with getting a Temptation, so now I lead Mom to my platform when I want to scratch to make sure she sees me.

10. I dislike being picked up.

Now for the ten blogs to pass this award on to:

Friends Furever

Parker

The Monkeys

Cory

Cheysuli and Gemini

Max the Psychokitty

Daisy the Curly Cat and Harley

Brandi

Pierro

I got my very first award from Tygana at One Cat's Nip. Thank you so much. Here are the rules:

  1. Copy and paste the Kreativ Blogger picture onto your blog.
  2. Thank the person who gave you the award and post a link to their blog.
  3. Write 7 things about yourself we do not know.
  4. Choose 7 other bloggers to award.
  5. Links to those 7 other bloggers.
  6. Notify your 7 bloggers.
Seven things you don't know about me:
1. I have one pink paw pad. The others are all gray.

3. My eyes are green/gold with a little hazel brown mixed in.
4. I turned 2 1/2 on Sunday.
5. I sometimes stick my nose in my Mom's dinner and she doesn't get mad.
6. Mom put a blanket for me up on top if the file cabinet in case I wanted to get up high and I have never gone up there.
7. I never crawl under a blanket or anything else to get warm.

Now for the hard part, finding seven other kitties who don't already have this award.

Cubby and Clifford at Friends Furever, because it is their birthday.
Cheysuli, because I think she needs cheering up a little.
Loki, because he's just so cool.
Chairman Mao, because they need some encouragement to blog more.
Roxy, because we both like to jump up on the table.
Mickey, because we mancats have to stick together.
Angel and Kirby, because they are such good friends.
