Bed and Bugs

The rainy season has started here, which brought the temperatures down. My bed has become my favorite place to nap again. I have become more playful with the cooler temperatures. Mom and I had several play sessions today. Mom has been wondering why my scratching post changes position, as she hasn't seen me scratching the post part, which makes it tip and move. I showed her today. I don't scratch the post, I attack it! I leap on it and wrap my body around the post, so it doesn't tip over and to go town on the post with my claws. That makes it move.

Last night I showed Mom that I am too interested in flying bugs. I was lying on her bed while she blogged, then she heard a big thump and turned around. I was on the floor eating a moth I had just caught. Mom was hoping that it wouldn't come up again, and it didn't. She let me have a tiny bit of her ice cream for dessert. Today I chased a big fly around the big room, but gave up the chase when it went into the kitchen. The floor in there is too slippery for a flying bug chase.

I have mostly been eating up all my food and helping Mom eat hers. I got a little mac and cheese for lunch and we had steak for dinner. Mom gave me tiny bites until I didn't want any more. I have it really good here and I love it.

Mommy gets a big smile on her face when she reads about how well you're doing, then she comes and loves on us, so win-win!
Keep the moths in line and keep eating-especially the mommy food, which we think is better than anything we can find on our plates.

Well Herman, I didn't know you were a bugger too! Flying ones are the best but crawlie ones are OK. I am happy you are eating so well...keep it up my friend!

Moths are very tasty aren't they Herman especially if they're very fresh. Can we teleport over when you hear you're having steak again please.

Herman, you sound like you are living large, as you should be! Gracie is also a bug chaser! She eats them, except for the hornets... She just deads them! I can't imagine how she has managed not to get stung yet!

Gandalf, Grayson, Whitey and Gracie send big rumbly purrs to you and your Mom!

Herman we love to read the good news on your blog about how well you are doing! We are so happy that you are being so feisty - and wow catching a moth is great (bugs are great for protein you know!) We aren't that good at catching the flying bugs at our house - mostly Kirzon is the bug guy. And that is so funny about your scratching post - we can picture you attacking it all wrapped around it - so cute!

You got a moth AND ice cream on the same day? And you kept them both down? Wow, you are such a good and fortunate kitty!

What a day you have had. Sounds great that you are having so much fun. I kind of like the crawly bugs myself. Cleo likes the flying ones. Cleo loves to run real fast and jump on the cat tree and dig her claws into it. She can't make move like you can though. Oh boy ice cream. Mom gives me some to when she has it. So thankful how well you are doing Herman.

Herman, we do the same sort of thing! *smile*

We attack things to move them. I shove the water fountain all around and you shove the scratching post.

Cool!
