Invasion of the Workmen

I am snoozing on Mom's bed.  We are having some enforced togetherness today because we not only have noisy workmen outside, we have them in the house, too.

Karen Jo:  I am having new windows installed.  The kitties and I are all in the back half of the house, with the hall door closed and the workmen are in the living room and kitchen.

Oja acted weird last night.  I was getting whiffies at the screen door and she came up behind me and got pretty close.  I turned around to see what she wanted and we touched noses.  Then, for no reason at all, she backed up and hissed at me.  I got even, though.  This morning when she got close to me, I whapped her on the top of her head.  That'll show her.

Karen Jo:  The hissing caught me off guard, too.  Oja hadn't hissed in days.
Spyro:  I am in Oja's room, enjoying the sunshine.  Mom made a stairway out of these boxes to make it easy to get up to the top shelf of the bookcase and the windowsill.  Oja and I have been chasing each other for fun.

Karen Jo:  I know it's for fun because there is no hissing or growling involved.
I am on Mom's computer chair, which is one of my favorite nap spots.  Mom took the picture from this angle   rather than trying to get me face because she wanted a picture of my curly tail. This is how I usually carry my tail when I am walking around.

Karen Jo:  You can just see her very faint tail stripes, too.  Oja is silvery gray all over, except for faint stripes on her tail and faint marks on her face, like the sides of the tabby M.

We sure hope Oja gets over her hissing soon, for good. :-)

And good luck with the window installation. One of us hides UTB whenever someone comes in to do work, while one of us likes to "help" whoever has come in. :-P

Workmen in the house are no fun! Mom and Dad are working in our house cause the carpet in the hall is wet! No idea how that happened cause it is more than a kitty would leave!

We really really hate workmen in the house. They are so noisy and annoying.

We bet Oja was just surprisedby the unexpected "nose-kissy"...

Sounds like a peace treaty is being signed between you two. Occasional lapses are normal.

We giggled at the enforced togetherness...what a fun phrase! We have our paws crossed that Oja stops hissing; we bet she will, soon. Heck, we all still hiss sometimes. It's what we do!

Spyro and Oja
We still have hissy spits going on around here and we've all been together since 2005. We girls do not like one another. But Cat Wisdom101 had a really good post yesterday about cat behaviors and she kinda explained that. It was an interesting read yesterday I highly recomment you check it out if you haven't already.

Wow, you kittehs are BRAVE! When workmen come to our house, we're instantly UTB.

It sounds like you're all coming to an agreement (with a few lapses). :)

Ah, nothing like togetherness! Workmen in the house is bad news. We would have been UTB.

Sounds to me like three steps forward, half a step back - Oja, you are making good progress!

It is good to hear that you three are getting along a little better. We have a kitty here that likes to hiss at us and sometimes chase us. But she is getting a little better now too.Take care and have a great weekend.

The four of us get along most of the time. Except when our meals are late, then there is agitation and some whapping. Nothing serious, just enough to get mombean's attention to the fact that we are starving!

I do not envy you the workmen! We had them out at our house last month and they are NOISY!

Installation of bird TVs--I don't know..it can get pretty hairy until they're finished.

Oja, you're hissing at the wrong people. The workmen could use a talking to, no doubt (they're taking too long :)

Good luck with the installation. The kitties will soon find out it was so worth it!!

Hugs,
Tom

Very exciting about new windows ... The process stressful tho. We got a new window in the dining room last week & we all ran to the beds. I like to go under the covers. Mom calls me "The Lump" when I do that. Pfft.

Thanks for coming by our bloggy.

Hisses ... LOL

Ah, the old "kiss 'n' hiss." Caroline does that to me all the time. Sometimes she bops me on the head for no reason, too. Girls.

Oh you poor things: work in the house always leads to hissing. In people too. We have neighbours on BOTH sides of the house doing work. We're past hissing. We're whining like puppies. Purrs to you all and looking forward to playful pics!

Workmen are very noisy. It´s preferable that are far from us ;)
