Karen Jo: That's not the whole story, Herman.
All right, I woke her up four times for breakfast, but that's only because she wouldn't give me any new food.
Karen Jo: I didn't give you any new food because you hadn't eaten what I had given you last night. I don't mind getting up really early to give you breakfast if your dish is empty, but I won't give you new food if you are just being picky.
But I have woken you up several times for breakfast before, but you never shut me out of the bedroom.
Karen Jo: You never stuck you claw in my ear before, either.
Whoops. I'm sorry. You didn't get up until after sardine time.
Karen Jo: I know, Herman. I needed my sleep. I had to go to work today. I did give you breakfast and your sardine after I got up. In fact, I gave you two breakfasts because you ate the first one up so quickly.
I was hungry. I did eat about half of the old food by the time you finally dragged yourself out of bed. You didn't eat anything good for lunch today.
Karen Jo: I put tomato sauce on my pasta today.
I know. I tasted it. It was yucky. You didn't play with me before you went to work today.
Karen Jo: I know. After my late sleeping I got behind schedule a bit. I did give you your brushing, though. You don't usually want to play much before I go to work, anyway. We had a good play time after I got home from work.
I love my brushing. I purr the whole time. You aren't going to shut me out of the bedroom again, are you?
Karen Jo: I won't if you don't use your claws on me to wake me up. Your paw on my face and your meows work well enough.
I'll try to remember that.

Poor Herman! Instead of using your clawrs, try giving the Bitey next time!
Herman, we don't understand why she locked you out of the room eihter...afterall, you were hungry...but next time maybe you shouldn't use your claws...
Oh noes, not claws in the ear! MOL! Sorry you were locked outta the room bud. Happens to us too, sometimes!
Herman, claws in the ear are BAD! I know what would happen to me if I woke mom up too early. Getting shut out of the bedroom would be the least of my worries.

Oh boy, a claw in the ear is no fun! We get locked out sometimes too!
Putting your claw in Mom's ear is not a good idea. Mom had a kitty named Tabriz who caught his claw in the corner of her eyelid...skeery!

Herman how could your Mom lock you out when you give that adorable face? Your Mom must consider a claw in the ear a lucky escape, our Gerry jumps on Mum's eyeballs in the morning with BOTH paws. She'd prefer a claw in the ear she says, black eyes are hard to explain. Daisy's advice is good :D
Have a super weekend!

Oh, the trials we have to endure, Herman..........we cross our paws that you won't get shut out tonight. xxxxxxxxx
Sweet Herman, you have to watch the claws. You will learn.
Maybe the solution both ways is for Mom to realize that you have some food flavors that are not your "favorites" :-). I usually eat mine all up overnight, but I have some I pick at during the day, and if Mom is around, I will use all my wiles to plead for a replacement. My sister finally got an automatic feeder to help out with the night times, because her kitty would start with the wake ups by 3 am!
But Herman, it is a good sign that you have an appetite.
Herman--I can't believe she shut you out! How rude. All you did was let her know that the other food was unacceptable and you needed something fresh!
Oh, yeah, Herman ... claws in the ears usually lead to banishment. You're mommy is pretty tolerant ... we've been shut out of the bedroom much lesser offenses.

Hang in there Herman, Mom isn't quite fluent in feline yet, but she's learning. It takes a while to get your real message understood. Y'all have a calm and wonderful weekend!
Herman, we have all been there - no matter what you do they ignore you! We bug our mom for food when we have stuff too - we totally understand where you are coming from!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Herman, you must let your human know that you don't like left overs.
How could she shut you out of the bedroom? That is not fair! I wake mum up by walking on her head and if a claw sticks in her head, that's her fault for not getting up quicker.
Eric
We agree with Daisy, stick to the bitey Herman!
Do what we do when she shuts you out of the room. Just throw yourself at the door repeatedly. Ours always gets up & feeds us just so she can have peace & quiet and get back to sleep. Works every time. It's all in training them right, Herman.
Poor sweet little baby. How terrible of you to have to wake up the mom for food and she not getting up to serve your. Wow, try next time, I just did it the other day. I jumped on the mom really hard when she was sleeping, then go to the night stand and knock off all of the pictures in the frames sitting on the night stand. They jump back on her really hard, harder than the first time. After she gets up find a nice quiet spot where she cannot find you and get some more zzzzzs! Oh, life is good!
Herman, we gotta warn ya. Iffen ya don't eat perfectly good food at night, the Bein aint likely ta think ya were hungry. We mean, they ASSUME the food was good.
So heres what ya need ta do. Eat the lousy food, then go barf it somewhere secret. Then ya get diferent food the next day an it might be a favrit!
Herman, how could anyone shut you out? That face! Just keep working that face and she'll give you whatever you want.
Herman, I am encouraging you to be a sweet boy, so I have nominated you for the Sweet Friends award on my blog.
