Karen Jo: That did really concern me at first, Herman. I don't know what made you barf this time. You haven't gotten any new food and it's been a couple of days since I upped The Missing Link in your Stinky Goodness. I have given you two Temptations close together before without any problems. Your sardine was from a brand new can, so it wasn't old or anything. I didn't notice a hairball in the barf, though the first puddle was pretty big and there could have been a small one in it.
Whatever caused it, it isn't serious. I am feeling fine now. A couple of hours afterward I had a big drink of water and a little while after that I started eating again. I played with Mom a little bit more and we had a really long brushing session. I even got a second brushing session later. Mom got one of the little mats by my elbow out with the brush. I won't let her cut them out. I don't like those scissors at all.
Karen Jo: I'm not going to force the "cut the mats out" issue. They don't seem to be bothering you at all and maybe as your fur grows I'll be able to get them with the brush. It amazes me that you scrim away from the scissors, but when the brush really pulls on your fur, you just accept it and keep on purring.
What are we going to do tonight?
Karen Jo: I am going to work/play on the computer. I am way behind on our visiting. You may come sit in the rocking chair and keep me company, if you like.
We'll see. I may just lie around the living room like I do when you are at work. I may take a nap on the kitchen rug. I may whap my nip ball where you can't see it again. Hahaha! I have made Mom find my nip ball four times today already.

Oh no, it's not good when you have to yuck. We all hope you're doing ok buddy. You've made such great progress, we think you've got an awesome mummy.
Our mummy got a special razor (same kind the vet has) to cut our mats out (RUMBLE'S mats, I don't get mats! -Inigo) It's much easier to use, and there is no danger of getting cut (mummy may have accidentally nicked Rumbles once when he struggled over a bad mat, she cried lots and took him to the vet, it was a small nick thank heavens)
Mummy says they're an excellent investment, and they make grooming so much easier. Might be a good idea for you?
We're sorry you yakked, Herman...but we're glad you're feeling better now...our mom says she wishes you could teach us how to yak on the plastic mats...
I am glad that you are feeling okay even though you yakked. Sometimes we yak just because.
Holy moly, I didn't even realize you had a blog! I'll put it on my list as soon as I can, and I'll read all the way from the beginning too.
Sardines? That is very special! I don't think I've ever had a sardine...although when Olivia came to live with us I wanted to name her Sardine. (Mom said sardine was not a cat name and especially not her name.)
We got to play tosasing mousie toys fer almost 4 hours tyoday! That was so cool.
Sorry to hear you yakked, Herman. We're glad you're feeling better now, though!
We hope you are feeling OK tonight!
Sometimes a guy barfs just to barf... I like to get on top of one of the climbing towers and let go from there. It makes nice patterns on the floor below...
Sometimes we seem to yak for no reason too. Glad you have good aim though!
Hope you are feeling better today Herman. Sometimes we barf for no obvious reason and then we feel better again. Mum was impressed that you barfed on the plastic mats. She asked us why we have to do it on the carpet. We told her because it is more work on the carpet of course.
Better out than in we say Herman. Sometimes we cats just yack. That's the deal. Maybe a sardine is a very rich breakfast? Glad you felt better after. Our Mum is SO impressed that you yacked on the plastic mat. We will never hear the end of this :)
Whicky
i don't worry anymore about barf, there is always somebody who had barfed during the night, I only have to pay attention that I don't step in it (barefoot) which already happened, yikes ! Cats need it apparently from time to time.
I have to go with Kim to the animal beauty shop, because she won't let us brush her, but there she is an angel.
Sorry you had to bomit. That is no fun!
We're so glad that you are feeling better, Herman, and we are sorry to hear that you got sick in the first place. Extra brushing sounds nice though.
:)

You get real sardines? Are you kidding? We've never tasted one:( Rats!
Yack happens, it is usually better to get it up...or so I've heard!
Hey Herman and Karen Jo,
Just stopping buy to see how Herman is feeling today, and to say thanks for the visit to help us celebrate our 100th post. And thanks for being our furiends, too! :)
Hi Herman,
We know how unfun barfing is. Kirzon has always been a bit of a barfer, and Floyd did it a lot. Sometimes it just feels good to barf and then go on with your day. We totally understand why your mom worried at first though.
And you are good to let her comb the mats out - tell your mom a nice sturdy metal comb like they use on doggies works good and it has round teeth so it is gentle on you too - we used to use one on Floyd for his mats.
Get better Herman
xoxo
Hope you are all better soon!
Mom cat sits for a kitty with long furs like yours. He is always covered in mats, he gets them so easily. His mom cuts out what she can but he goes to a cat groomer regularily.
"Where's the Nip Ball" sounds like a fun game!
Carpet pics are just fine honey!! You're cute either way!! =)
XOXOXOXOXo Puddin
Sounds like you two are learning to communicate well.
