Award

I got this award from Ayla and Iza some time ago because they thought I might be feeling blue from not being able to get rid of the pudding poops. They are so right. I am also blue because my Mom is trying to trick me. I trust her completely and she is trying to trick me. Do you know what I found in one of my new treats? Do you?!? A nasty pill! I ate the treat and spit out the pill. Then do you know what she did? She tried it again! She gave me a really big new treat and it had that same nasty pill inside. I ate the treat and spit out the pill again. Tonight she tried to give me two more of my new treats, but I don't trust them now. She put them in my PTU with my Party Mix treats that I always get in there, but I haven't eaten any of them. Luckily I still have lots of good food to eat and real treats. I cleaned up my dish for breakfast again this morning. I didn't eat much while Mom was away at work, but as soon as she got home, I started to eat everything up again. She asked me if I wanted fresh food and I meowed YES as loudly as I could, but when she bent down to pick up my Medley dish, I started eating the food that I hadn't eaten yet, so she picked up my Stinky Goodness dish. I had mostly finished my Medley by the time that my Stinky Goodness arrived, but I wasn't really interested in my Stinky Goodness. I jumped up on the counter to make sure that she was giving me good Medley. I started eating it as soon as it hit the dish, but then she put fiber in it, so I tried to eat what was left in the can instead. Mom pushed me away from that, so I started eating the fiber-laced Medley. I don't really mind my fiber at all, I just don't eat much at night after Mom goes to bed. For some reason, I eat more when Mom is around. I better get back to the award, or I will never finish.

You just saw this picture yesterday, but Mom took it for this post. She just didn't get this post ready in time to post it yesterday. I love my BLUE blanket and sleep on it all the time now. Mom tried to get a new picture of me sleeping with my head on the pillow at the other end of the sofa, but I wouldn't cooperate.

The best PINK thing about me is my one pink paw pad, but I won't let Mom take a picture of it. Second best is my pink snuggle on my chair. I used to nap up here a lot.

This is my GREEN crackle frog. I sometimes use it as a pillow, but I don't play with it much. I like to sniff it occasionally.

And this is my ORANGE mousie. It has a rattle inside it and I used to be very interested in it. Maybe I will be again some day, if I start feeling a lot better. Mom has hopes. Now I have to pass this award on to four other bloggers, one for each color.

I give the BLUE part to Samson and Delilah because they just moved and are blue because their new apartment doesn't seem like home yet.

I give the PINK part to Daisy because she looks so good in pink and she has such a cute pink nose.

I give the ORANGE part to Rudy because he is an orange cat and I want to remind him that he is still a great orange cat, even if the groomer stole a lot of his fur.

I give the GREEN part to Roxy because she loves broccoli so much and there is nothing greener than that.

I enjoyed yours Mood Ring post furry much. Wif all tha pickshures and all, furry interesting.
You know, that's funny, cause I got a big soft treat a while back, and there in tha middle was this nasty PILL. I had spit that pill out a couple of times.
How does that happen, I wonder.

Me and Charlie are waving hello to you and your mum and sending our best wishes.

Herman and Karen Jo,
Keep up the good work...Herman, you need to take the pills, and your mom is trying to make that less of a problem for both of you, so take the snackie with the pill in it and be done.
Nice job on the eating. Runt likes to eat more when mommy is around too, so Herman is not that different.

Thank you very much for the award, Herman! You're right, we're still a little blue from our move, but we're feeling better and big purrs that you are too!

Yay Herman! I am so glad you are eating more! It`s important to keep your strength up!
The kitty my Mommy had before me lived to be 17, even though he had end stage renal failure. His vet told Mommy he would only live about 3 more months at best, and he lived another 2 years!
I am sure you can surprise your Mom with lots of love and cuddles for as long as you have left, which I hope is a long time. Mommy and I love reading about you, good or bad, and always want to know how you are doing! Don`t be afraid to tell us the bad stuff too, we are all here for you and your Mom!

Congratulations on your award Herman! What beautiful colours you have in your life. We think they all suit you very well.

You are being very good eating up your fuuds and being so keen, it always helps us to eat when our Mums are there :) But you do need to take those pills too or else they might have to be given with water in a syringe and we know you don't like that much.

We're purring hard for your Herman big fella!

Good news about the eating! Your modd ring post was very interesting to read, and I love all your colors and what they mean to you.

My Mom sent 3 packages of pill pockets all the way to Africa for my cousin Flossie, so her Mom could give her blood pressure medicines, but she worked out what they were all about quite quickly too. It's a pity both you and Flossie are too smart for your humans to be duped by them, because I am sure they really do make the medicine quite tasty.

Hi Herman! Congratulations on your award! I have another idea for you to make your foods more delicious. We LOVE our Grandma Lucy's freeze-dried chicken liver. The only ingredient is chicken liver, it is very healthy. Anyway, at the bottom of the jar there is a LOT of powdery crumbles (a few tablespoon-fulls). Sprinkling some of that on top of our food will get us to eat ANYTHING. Just something you could consider trying!

Thanks for thinking of me for the pretty PINK color!

We are pleased to hear you are eating a lot better for your Mom now. Fancy your Mom putting a pill inside one of your treats - who would have thought she would do that - she must have done it by accident!!
You take care now Herman and remember to purr for your Mom.
Luv Hannah and Lucy

Hello, Herman,

I heard about you from Amy at House of Cats, so I thought I'd stop to say hi.

First of all, you are a good looking chap! I love a handsome, fluffy gray guy!

I think you're too smart for your own good - spitting out your pills but nomming up your treats! My doggies do that too, but... You have to take the good with the bad if you want to feel better. Or, the alternative is mommy sticking her fingers right down your throat until that nasty pill is down in your tummy.

So. Think about it. Icky pill wrapped in treat; close your eyes and swallow it. Or... mommy's fingers down your gullet. Not nice. But we mommies do what we have to to get our wee ones better!

Take care of yourself, Herman!

Well, I bet you you feel lonely when you mom is not there and that's why you don't eat as much. As for the nasty pills, I know they're nasty, but they will make you feel better, so I advise you to eat them.

Thanks for the award. Green and broccoli are two of my favorite things.

Very clever of you to eat the pill pocket and spit out the pill, but we don't think it's in your best interest, all the same.

We're purring hard for you, Herman, and since we're not blogging today, we've added the CB graphic for you to our sidebar. Sending lots of kitty kisses and healing Light.

Herman, we love ya pal! We're all purring for ya here... You're such a strong cat, you can do it!
And Karen, it will be ok, either way. It's never easy traveling down this road, I've only half been there with my fight with a FIV cat. I can't imagine dealing with both. You're such a special woman for taking on this challenge. You've done exactly what I'm going to do when I hit the lotto on a big scale. All the cats in the world thank you. And think about this... your experiences will help a lot of other sick cats in the future because your vet - and all of us thanks to us reading your posts - know better what works and what doesn't. Thanks again for all you've done and know that we're all purring for Herman and you.

Hi Herman and Karen Jo,
We learned about you from quite a few blogs that we follow and wanted to stop by for a visit. We're so sorry about your illness but it's so nice to read how you're eating a lot lately. We will be praying for both of you. It was fun to read about your reward and some of your favorite things in your house. Mama has taken care of two very sick kitties, one with cancer, and knows a little what you're going through. Well, again, we will pray for both of you.

Hai Herman, its nice to meets you and I am so sorry it has to be now when you is feelings poor. I is sending you many Purrrrrrrrrrs to feels better soon.

It sounds likes your momma is takings good care of you and I luvs your toys you showed!

Momma has a tip for your momma wif da pilling, so here is momma.

When my calico was sick and had to take pills I tried the pill pockets as well but she soon realized and spit the pill out then she wouldn't eat them as Herman is doing. So to get her to take the pill without putting a dry pill in her throat, I use a small piece of the pill pocket and coat the pill so its soft like a gel pill. I would pop it into her throat & that worked really well, no choking or anything. So if you want to give it a try if you need to.

Herman and you are in our thoughts!
