Catching Up

I have now claimed all the furniture in the big room as MINE. Here I am napping on the couch. See how my fur sticks out? Mom has really looked at my fur and her theory is that I always look like I am having a bad fur day because my fur has just a tiny bit of curl in it. It is especially noticeable in my chest and tummy fur. She was brushing me the other day and noticed that my back fur got wavy after brushing. The little bit of curl means that my fur doesn't like to lie flat and smooth.

My Mom is feeling better and doesn't get very hurty much any more.

Karen Jo: I still have a low grade ache most of the time, but the big pain spikes when I move in certain ways has almost disappeared. Yay for physical therapy and exercises! I even got down on my hands and knees to retrieve Herman's ball and played with him for a little bit while I was down there. Getting up again wasn't nearly as painful as I had feared, so maybe our regular play times may be back soon.

I am getting more playful again. I wasn't playing much when Mom was so hurty. I think I picked up on her feeling bad and it made me feel a bit bad, too. Now things are better and I am having more fun. I am scarfing up the food, but I still love keeping my Mom guessing. She gave me some turkey and skin in my bowl and I didn't eat it. I kept staring at her and meowing while she was eating her turkey, though, so she gave me some turkey skin and a tiny bit of gravy on a people plate and I ate it right up.

Karen Jo: I sometimes give Herman treats on saucers, which I never use for food. I always use the Sanitize cycle on the dishwasher anyway.

I love it when my Mom decides to spend the evening sitting up on her bed and watching TV. I snuggle right up to her side and get lots of petting.

Karen Jo: We have been having very cold weather and I have been pretty achy, which is why I haven't been blogging since Christmas. Hopefully, the ache will continue to diminish and I can get back to a more normal blogging schedule.

Herman we totally understand about bad fur days, and at least you have a good excuse with the curly fur. Our kitty that gets them doesn't have that - he just has perpetual bed head.

We are glad your mom is feeling better and hope she keeps getting better and better. Hopefully the cold weather will break there and that will help too.

Herman, a little fatty acid supplement in your foodies might make your furs lay down a little smoother. We use 3V caps liquid; it's an Omega 3 fatty acid. It helps Harley's acne.

I think using saucers is a good idea. We generally prefer eating from flat-ish dishes much more than bowls that can bother our whiskers. We got a whole bunch of small rectangular plates from Crate & Barrel outlet store, and we love them!

We eat offa most of the same plates our people do. Well, the little plates. The Woman figures the dishwasher does a good enough job and if it doesn't she doesn't wanna know... We get on the counters, too, which grosses a lot of people out but she says that's what bleach is for.

Herman all the furniture in the whole home is YOURS! You look super on the sofa. We love your furs, we think a bit of a ruffty-tuffty look is very cool and mancatly. So glad Karen-Jo's ribs are feeling better too. More snuggling and playing is always a good thing. I don't like bowls either, I don't like my whiskers touching the sides - yay saucers!

PS: Happy 2010 to you and your Mum!

Get her to lay on her belly and give her some kneading on the back, that might help! Legs work great too, our beans always rave over that!
Stay warm and glad to see you're still around!

Herman you are looking so good!!!! Inigo has curly tummy fur so he knows what you're going through. Mummy uses her old hair brush (natural boar bristles) on his tum and it works quite well.

Mummy wonders if your mummy has tried Arnica cream for aches? It helps mummy and daddy when they pull muscles or have strains, it might help a bit? We hope your mummy feeling better.

Hi Herman, you are looking good even if you have a little bit of curl in your hair. We are so very glad that your Mom isn't hurting as bad as she was and that she can play with you a little more. All of us hope that you have a Great New Year.

Hope you feel better, Karen Jo. We're all hating this cold weather and Jan creaks and moans when she moves.

Glad you are settling in and taking over things. I can see the mave in the fur and I think it makes you look oh so handsome.
My mom is a pro at things hurting and her theory is that when one is older, which my mom really is, and you get a boo boo things are never the same. Don't tell you mom this though.

Happy New Year to you!!

We eat our wet foods from a plate, and our dry foods and water from large bowls, but Mom just washes them like any other dish. Iz that bad? Yikes?

Herman, we are so glad you and Karen Jo found each other this year! And we are very glad to be yer friends! We wish you and yer Mom a Purrfect, Healthy, Prosperous and Happy New Year!

Hi Herman and Mommy Karen Jo! Herman, Cody has wavy furs too.
I totally sympathize with the hurties. I hit a rough patch with no reprieve yet. I'm glad Mommy Karen Jo is doing better. I feel so badly for her, hurting her ribs like that. :(
I am happy that you had such a great Christmas together and are ringing in the New Year together. You are both truly blessed to have found each other and it makes me so happy and warm inside when I think of it. I'm even getting a bit teary, but in a good way.
Happy New Year!
