Tuxie Tuesday

Mom took this picture from fairly far away, trying not to wake me up.  The whirr when the camera turns on wakes me up every time, though.  I am not very much awake, though, and put my head back down almost immediately.  I had been playing with my sparkly nip candy cane just before my nap.

Mom has been whining that I don't play with her.  Well, I told her last night that I was ready to play, but she ignored me.

Karen Jo:  It was two o'clock in the morning.  That's sleep time, not play time, at least for me.  I had to get up to go to work in the morning.

I told you again when you got home tonight that I was ready to play.

Karen Jo:  I was using the human litter box.  By the time I finished, you didn't want to play any more.  You wanted your dinner, which you got.

I wanted treats, too, but you wouldn't give them to me.

Karen Jo:  My feet were killing me.  I had to change out of my work shoes and clothes before I could relax and give you treats.  You got plenty of treats after that.  You finished off your bag of Whisker Lickin's and ate a whole bunch of Temptations.

Some kitties have wondered how I can eat as much as I want whenever I want and not get ginormous.  Mom has a theory.  She thinks that my body uses up a lot of energy every day keeping my FIV and FeLV in remission.  She has absolutely no scientific backing for this theory, it just seems likely to her.  I am just happy that I can eat as much as I like of whatever I like and stay at about 14 pounds.

Karen Jo:  That makes me happy, too.  You just stay a little bit fat and a lot of sassy.  I am really looking forward to showing your vet how big and strong you are in a couple of months.

I am not looking forward to that.

Karen Jo:  Don't worry.  It will just be a checkup.  You won't get a shot or anything.  At most you will get your temperature taken, though I don't know if that is part of the wellness checkup.  You may only get weighed and felt over.

Mom hasn't put my in my stroller yet.

Karen Jo:  I just might do that tomorrow.  I think you are used to seeing it around.  How would you like a little ride up and down the hall?

I don't know.  We will have to see.

Herman, it sounds like you and your human need to get your schedules in sync! Maybe she can start working different hours or something.

We don't understand why humans are so strict about their sleep schedules! 2 am sounds perfect for playing!

We think Thundering Herds of Elephants is the best game at 2.00 a.m.

Gosh Herman, I play thundering herd of (one) elephants all night long! I wish we were neighbors..I would help you play with your mom. Now, MY mom would not like us both to play and wake HER up.

I think you're training your mom perfectly. And by the way, you look glorious lying on your hammick!

As far as we're concerned (Nicki, anyway), 2AM *is* playtime. The mom can attest to that!

You sure do have your mom properly trained, Herman. Maybe you could write a book or brochure or even do a "how to" video for the rest of us. Especially the part about getting so many treats! ;-D

Herman, we are laughing our heads off over how you run your Mom around...you are clearly a Master of Mayhem. We'd be happy to come and rumble with you any time! In fact, 2 AM is always good for us.

I'm glad your mommy realizes the importance of not waking a comfy napping kitty. You look very cozy.

My mommy thinks the same thing about me and eating! I don't get a bag of treats like you do cause of my IBD but I eat a lot and don't gain much.

I hope they take your temp in your ear and not in your spot #13. I think your VET will be very impressed with you and your mommy!

The whir of the camera distracts us too. And the laser light of the focus. Drives TBT nuts cuz we stop doing what he wanted to get a picture of!
