Mancat Monday

It's supposed to be Mancat  Monday and Mom kept pestering me to pose with a pink hat.  I don't think that's very mancatly.

Karen Jo:  That's the hat I wear to work every day to show my support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

What do I care?  It doesn't affect me.

Karen Jo:  Oh, yes, it does.  You know those soft warm things you like to cuddle up against and rest your head on while we are in bed?  This month is to help protect those.

Oh, I am all in favor of that.  I didn't eat any of the canned food you  left me when you went to work, but I ate up all that you gave me when you got home.  I didn't like having you gone away all that time.

Karen Jo:  I'm sorry, Herman, but it you want to keep having more food than you will eat, I have to keep on going to work. Do you know what I found in the litter box today?

I'm afraid to ask.

Karen Jo:  Half normal poop and half pudding poop.

Does that mean what I think it means?

Karen Jo: Yup, you get to go back on your poop pills.

Darn it.  Does this mean I get more treats?

Karen Jo:  You will get treats for taking your pills, yes.

I wish I could just get treats for nothing.  I have to scratch on my platform or post to get a Temptation or Greenie.  I have to take a pill to get Party Mix.  I have to take my Interferon to get my cheese.

Karen Jo:  I give you treats sometimes just for being you.

Not nearly often enough.  I got kind of grouchy today and wouldn't play with Mom before she went to work at all.  I saw her in her uniform and knew what it meant.  I did play with her just a little bit after she got home again.  Mom is eating pot roast again.  I smelled meat and begged for some, but when she gave me a piece, I could smell that it was pot roast and didn't even taste it.  I hope she cooks something good soon.

Aw Herman, we're sorry that you have to take so many pills/do so many things to get treats...you're right, you should just get treats for being you and being sweet and wonderful. I think we should get treats for each hour of the day; for each time we do our business, for each time we look at mom (we would get lots of treats in that case!!); for each time we purr (ditto) and so forth!! They should just come, but life is not such. We purr that you are feeling good and that you get wonderful treats in exchange for the nasty things that you have to take so that you feel good. Your pals, Lautrec and Tiny

Man, Herman, you have to WORK for those treats?! What is it with humans? We don't have to take all the pills and medicine you do, but if we want treats, we still have to sit up for them. I think humans are just a little bit sadistic.

Herman, I am glad giving you some treats after your medicine makes it more acceptable to you. Because that is easier on your dear Mom. I am sure she wished she didn't have to make you take any medicines. But the meds have really helped you out a LOT.

That is wonderful of your mom to wear the pink hat to work all month for Breast Cancer Awareness.

Herman, we agree that squishy bubblies are wonderful! 'Specially for cuddling and biscuit-making...Mommy goes "owowow!" when we knead a little, um, vigorously.

Bummer about the poops, at least your Mom caught it right away. You'll be "In the Pink" in no time!

Bummer about the puddin' poops but glad you get treats with the pills. And Taz thinks you look especially manly with the pink hat... and she is working with mommy to get a picture for our blog of the boys (Runt and Charles) with a pink blankie, to show support this month too.
So, here's to pink hats and solid poopies!

Hi Herman! We are so sorry you are having some tummy troubles again, but we know the medicine will help it out. And well, at least you do get treats with your pills. We don't always, because we fight so much we just want to leave when it is done.

And we think it is great your mom wanted you to wear the pink hat - pink is manly at this time of year! Because it is very manly for us cats to support our moms and breast cancer awareness!
