Comeback Sunday

The weather has warmed up and we have been getting lots of sunshine, so I can enjoy my platform again.  Mom has been a REALLY bad blogger.

Karen Jo:  I am very sorry.  I could make a long list of minor complaints and sound very whiny, but basically, I just haven't felt up to blogging lately.  I really will do better.

Mom has been coming home from work and doing what she has to do, then going to bed instead of blogging.  On her days off when she could blog all evening, she just lies on her bed and falls asleep watching TV.

Karen Jo:  And who has been right beside me on the bed, demanding his petting sessions?

Me, of course.  I am not about to pass up an opportunity like that.  You don't always pet me enough, though.

Karen Jo:  You let me know about it Thursday night.  I petted you for almost an hour, but when I quit, you turned your head and gave me a baleful glare until I started petting you again.  I finally had to stop and go to sleep.    Friday night would  have been quite a sight for anyone looking.  You use your paws to push my hand around until I am petting just the right spot.  I tried to pet your chest, as you usually like and you pushed my hand down.  You were lying next to me, three-quarters on your back, head turned toward the TV, front paws folded against your chest, your near back leg sticking straight up in the air and your far back leg sprawled out to the side with me rubbing your lower belly.  I couldn't see it, but I bet you had that blissed-out look on your face that you get when you are really enjoying something.  It didn't last long, though.

I got sleepy and my back leg got tired, so I pushed you away.

Karen Jo:  You must have been really sleepy.  I tried petting your chest again and you pushed me away.

The food has been pretty good lately.  I wasn't really interested in the pork roast and only had one little bite.  I asked for treats again while the steak was cooking, but Mom only gave me one.  It was for the best.  I ate lots of little bites of steak.  It was worth waiting for.  Mom also had pasta and chicken with cream sauce and I got some of the pasta.  I didn't want the chicken, just the pasta.  I did want some of the chicken with cheese on it, though.  We had that yesterday and today.  Mom brought home sushi for tomorrow, but I don't think I am getting any.

Karen Jo:  I am trying something new called crunchy dragon roll.  I have to check to see if it has spicy sauce on it before I offer you any.  If it isn't spicy, you may have some.  I have never offered you sushi before, because I haven't been eating it much at all lately and the last time I had it, it was spicy.

Mom did remember to bring me home new litter and I got all fresh litter.  I jumped in as soon as she finished pouring it into the box.  Sometimes I sit and watch her scoop the box so I can use it as soon as she finishes.  I have been a good boy mostly about eating up my Stinky Goodness and Medley, so I am getting lots and lots of treats.  Mom brought home a new kind yesterday called Friskies Natural Sensations, salmon flavor.  I like them.

Karen Jo:  No surprise there.  The only thing you haven't been doing a lot of lately is playing with me.  All the extra snuggling has been great, though.  Now if only I could take care of your stinky bum.

Mom!  You are embarrassing me.

You are always getting little bits stuck in your pantaloons and you act like you are being murdered if I try to wash you.  You even give me the mancat fight yowl.

I hate being washed and you know it.  I eventually take care of matters.

Karen Jo:  Yes, you do, but it would be much faster if you would let me do it.

Never!

Herman, your human pets you for an HOUR!?!?! Mine can barely sit still for two minutes, never mind pet me for that long! And mine would NEVER offer me any sushi ever because she is selfish and keeps it all to herself. You are so lucky and sometimes I am not sure you even know how much.

Well, Herman, I can't ever sit still for a few minutes.
I just gotta play play play.
And I don't much like human food.
But I love the way Mommie ML scratches mine back. Ohhhh, yes.
And mine grooming is excellent, I must say. Of course, I'm a short hair, so not much to that.
I also don't fink you realize how lucky you are, Mom Karen Jo pays a lots of attenshun to you.
Love & Purrs,
KC

Don't we all hate being groomed in that department. You get petted for an HOUR at one time ?????? Oh my, I don't get that in a week.

Thanks for purring for me. I am doing quite well now, just not too active.

Oh, yes, Herman, washing bum bits off is sheer torture and murder.

How sweet that you love to be petted, and even like your lower belly petted. Mom is lucky to fit in 1.5 seconds of lower belly petting on me, if I am especially sleepy. Otherwise, NO WAY! And I will lay the bitey on her if she oversteps the petting bounds.

You have hit the jackpot with your food Herman - if you invited us over to see you maybe your mom would give us steak too - it sounds yummy.

Yeah, Herman and Karen Jo are back! Mommy was worried (we knew it was Karen Jo that was the hold up, but that's all right) and she let us know when she saw a posting from you today.
Runt wants you to know that he doesn't like it either when mommy has to "assist" with the grooming (however, he wants you to know his troublespot is in a less private area).
So, stay warm and love on those sunspots!

Herman, we think you are so lucky that your mom pets you for so long! We can barely get our mom to sit with us for 5 minutes before she's running off doing something else!!

Oh, Herman how lucky you are getting all that petting. There are so many of us around here each of our petting sessions are pretty short some times. We love jumping in the litter box and messing it up when we get new litter...ain't that fun to do? Hugs and nose kisses

Glad that your weather is getting better today, we are having improvement here too. I am wondering if the mom's have caught something over the winter time months as many are slacking off on their duties to us. Hope they get over things soon. Got to keep on the mom, don't let her get away with anything.

Oh Herman, all that petting and food tidbits sound like Heaven to us. Most of us like tummy rubs and stretch waaaaaay out to get rubbins.
Sorry about the bum business. Johnny gets klingons and Mommy and Daddy have to rassel him down to clean him up. All that floof is a pain, sometimes.

Floof is a pain, but the lovin is heavenly, don't forget that. One is worth the other.

Love the pictures. Handsome subject actually.

Herman
I have *amen* some troubles in that area. And I don't like it when Mom tries to clean me either. She does it anyway, but I still protest. But she knows I cannot reach completely to my backside, so she knows she must clean me up when I have dirty bits.

Well, Herman, sometimes the humans just get tired. We don't really understand that, but our mom says we have to take her word for it. But you know what? Your Sunday looked like the BEST Sunday a kitty could have -- the perfect lounge, the perfect sun, and the perfect warmth. Sigh, who could ask for more :)

Oh my Goodness Herman, pasta and fillet? You are one lucky kitty I tell ya! Did I hear sushi too? yummy! All we get is dry food and stinky goodess - if we get anything else I am afraid we would get more than our pantaloons dirty, if you know what I am sayin'

Thanks for the update! We are sorry to hear about your Mom trying to wash your hind quarters. Caramel (the only Floofy Bambino) doesn't like it either when Mom goes at her with a tissue or wet paper towel. The V-E-T even shaved off some of Caramel's tush furs to make it a little less messy.
