Oja Takes Over

Oja:  Mom is finally letting me have the blog to myself for a change and she's finally letting some cat blog here.  She's been doing all sorts of stuff, just not blogging.  A lot has been said lately about how I am built like on opera singer.  I am only one pound overweight, so there.
Remarks have been made about my short legs and how I am not as good a jumper as the other cats.  See how high I can get?  I am up on Spyro's spy tower.
I don't like boy cats much, but I am not afraid of them.  See what I can do to Spyro?  I only rassle with my friends, though, and that is why is hiss, growl and yowl at Rocio when he tries to start something.  I run away from him at times, because if I got into it with him, it would be a real fight.  He is such a brat.

Karen Jo:  He has been a real brat to you lately, Oja.  I break it up and put him in time out for a while, but he keeps trying to mix it up with you.  I ordered a Feliway plug-in and I hope that will help things.  I just hope I can find the right place to plug it in.  Rocio mostly goes after Oja in the kitchen and in the computer room and they are at opposite ends of the house.  Maybe I should get two of them?  Any suggestions?

Get down on all fours and be the MomCat. Hiss at the brat and give him a swat if he gets outta paw. I do that with all newcomers here! Howdy Oja, stand your ground!

Hi Oja! We liked that you did the post today. You did a great job. Maybe a calming collar for Rocio?

There are also Jackson Galaxy's Spirit Essences - they might help. I don't remember the website, but you can google them.

I wish I had an answer. Kirby goes after Angel all the time and he gets a lot of time out.

We hope the Feliway will help. We get along generally well and when we do squabble, Mommy will let us sort things out but will be close by to make sure things don't get out of hand (and it usually doesn't).

Blogs change sometimes and some kitties are best suited to take charge of them... We know you will do great Oja!

Oja we think you are great whatever you weigh or however long those velvety legs are.

Feliway: Our apes find that you generally need more than one diffuser, and if you can, avoid open windows and draughts as these dilute it a bit they think. The apes use the feliway spray at cat head height on everything we rub our faces on furniture/door wise. Don't plug the diffuser in behind furniture as you kinda get a smog of feliway in one place.

Oja we think you have a good way of dealing with Rocio by keeping away. Maybe Karen Jo could do some daily supervising with Rocio on her lap if he will oblige and you loose in the room, so if Rocio looks like he's about to start playing up Karen Jo can reassure him and restrain him or distract him before it escalates. We used this with Gerry who was very rude to other cats when he came here. He had to have a harness on though as he was so rude and stroppy.

Best of luck!

Rocio needs to learn some manners Oja see if your Mom can put the plug in where he spends most time.

Feliway is a good idea and two would be better if the places they are needed are at opposite ends of the house. Mum got Feliway for me when Eric went to the Bridge and it helped me a lot.

Oja, don't let them tease you about having short legs. I have short legs too, (I am a small cat, except Mom and the Vet say that I am F-A-T) and I can jump as high as the best of them! Love, Cody

Hi! I just got here from reading your interview over at Mousebreath. You are such an interesting family I decided to come pay a visit. Happy that I did, too.
